MANKATO, Minn. -- The Beavers finished the day with a split against the Mavericks. In game one, Reegan Floyd and Calley Olson defended the team in the circle. The Beavers collected one run from Abbey Kelley throughout the game.In game two, Jasmine Blizzard threw ten innings, andOlson came out of the bullpen to finish up the game.Micaela Resler scored the final run for the Beavers with an RBI single, which put the Beavers in the lead to claim the win. MANKATO, Minn. --Freshman Sarah Misner went 2-for-3 with a double for the Minot State Beavers in a 5-1 loss to the Minnesota State Mavericks on Friday.
Senior Reegan Floyd (9-4) got the ball to start for Minot State (17-13, 5-2) and took the loss. Junior Calley Olson was a bright spot for the Beavers, coming out of the bullpen and throwing one scoreless inning, allowing one hit.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Trailing 1-0, the Beavers first put runs on the board in the second inning. Minot State got an RBI single from senior Abbey Kelley, scoring junior Anna LaCount from second base. Minnesota State then scored four times over the remaining five innings to break the tie and grab the 5-1 win.

Senior Jasmine Blizzard (7-5) started in the circle and picked up the win for Minot State (18-13, 6-2). The right-hander went 10 innings, giving up four runs, all of them earned, on 11 hits, allowing three walks and striking out seven. Junior Calley Olson also made an impact in the circle for the Beavers, throwing one scoreless inning while allowing no hits, with no walks and one strikeout.
Offensively, the Beavers were led by junior Lexie Nelson, who went 1-for-5 on the day with a double and three RBI. Junior Micaela Resler furnished a noteworthy effort as well, going 2-for-6 with two RBI. Freshman Sarah Misner also contributed for Minot State, putting together two hits in three trips to the plate while adding two walks.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Beavers were trailing 3-0 in the seventh inning when they first put runs on the board. Minot State's offense started clicking and put up four runs, including a three-run double off the bat of Nelson.
